Fashion Trends to Look Out for in 2021

Fashion trends are constantly evolving. Although there is still the latter half of 2021 left, we have seen the re-emergence of throwback trends but also timeless fashion looks in the first half of 2021. Here are some of the fashion trends you need to look out for this year:

1) Puff Sleeves

Puff sleeves have never really been out of style because they have the ability to add a unique and fun aspect to even the simplest of outfits. In 2021, they have been all over the fashion industry, from high-fashion runways to casual wear. Printed puff sleeve tops and dresses have been making the most apparent appearance this spring/summer.

2) Straps & Strings

Straps and strings are not a particular article of clothing but most definitely help to spice up any outfit. You may have seen early 2000s fashion trends experimenting with string details around the waist or even shoulder ties. Straps and strings can be easily added to outfits in a DIY method by using shoelaces or following recent Tiktok trends that include transforming regular spaghetti strap tank tops into halter-neck tanks.

3) Scarves

Scarves can be used as an accessory to add to your outfit but can also function as an article of clothing itself. A scarf can be tied numerous ways to make different styles of summer tops. Depending on the pattern you choose, it can add a colourful touch to your outfit or can help style-up your outfit for more formal events.

4) Oversized Button-Down Shirts

Oversized shirts can be super versatile, especially for the summer, when it is hot during the day and gets a little chilly in the evenings. Similar to scarves, the pattern of the shirt is crucial, as it can help spice up or neutralize any outfit. These shirts can be worn completely buttoned for a more formal look, layered with a tank top to keep things more casual, or as a swimwear cover-up on the beach!
