Marvel...But make it a hotel!
As if Marvel wasn’t already giving us enough content this summer, they’ve also opened a brand new hotel in Paris, called Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel! Confusing, I know. However, this hotel is meant to celebrate and iconize the city where many of these heroes originate from and the artists that tirelessly work to bring these heroes onto the page and the screen.
The hotel boasts over 350 pieces of artwork from the comics and the movies, making it one of the largest collections of Marvel artwork in the world. But I know what you’re thinking. Art is cool and all, but what about those sweet, sweet amenities? Don't worry because Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel has got you covered. That is a mouthful though. Starting us off is the Marvel Design Studio where you can learn how to become a comic book artist through tutorials while being surrounded by the very art you’re trying to make. It’s both super encouraging and intimidating! And aren’t all the best things that kind of combination?
Another thing to look forward to is the Hero Training Zone. Feel like playing basketball or doing yoga in the company of Thor and Spider-Man? Well that’s oddly specific, but boy does Marvel have the place for you. Relax or exercise in the Hero Training Zone, alongside the several other fitness related amenities like the Metro Pool, combining a swimming pool and the New York metro system which is something I didn't know I needed, and a fitness center. On top of all that, you can be sure you’ll be able to take plenty of Insta-worthy pictures that’ll let everyone know where you’ve been. Thanks to the Super Hero Station, you’ll be able to take pictures in locations that’ll immerse in the MCU movies you love so much.
But, if you’re anything like me, amenities and art are second to one thing and one thing only, and that’s food. Luckily, the hotel’s got you covered. The Manhattan Restaurant, the Downtown Restaurant, the Skyline Bar, and the Bleecker Street Lounge will be the restaurants that will satisfy any and all cravings. The Manhattan Restaurant serves traditional italian dishes, while enveloping you in an interior design that combines Asgard and New York City. The Downtown Restaurant is a buffet that spotlights the different parts of New York City, while also cooking some of the food right in front of you. Who doesn’t love dinner and a show? Now here’s a question. Ever want to feel like Tony Stark but didn’t have the martinis or the view to do it? Well the Skyline Bar has got you covered. Giving you a beautiful “panoramic” view of the New York City skyline, while in Paris, you'll be able to choose among any number of drinks, but I recommend the martini. Just feels more Tony Stark-ish. Finally, the Bleeker Street Lounge brings a taste of the Sanctum Santorum mixed with a leisurely, culinary experience. Be sure to try the hot chocolate. No particular reason, I just really like hot chocolate.
